Rain

um·brel·la  (m-brl)

n. 1. A device for protection from the weather consisting of a collapsible, usually circular canopy mounted on a central rod.2. a. Something that covers or protects.

The rain pours over the land, on our umbrella that struggles to fight the force of the water. We scurry beneath this tiny invention, running all over the damp asphalt, under the dark clouds, gray sky. This is our attempt to hide from the rain.

We should’ve taken a rain check. We can never escape the rain. And I’m sick of wiping salt water off my eyes.
